Wer bist Du – Mensch oder Maschine? (Folge #1)

Artificial intelligence increasingly surrounds us in our everyday lives. Some say that technologically, it represents a significant step in the cultural evolution of humans. But how intelligent is AI? And what is intelligence anyway? Who controls artificial intelligence or the companies that develop it? What does AI mean for our society and for politics? And what challenges does research face in analyzing AI, how it works, and its implications?

Who are you - human or machine? In the first episode of the BR50 podcast, Thomas Prinzler discusses this with Prof. Dr. Jeanette Hofmann, head of the Politics of Digitization Research Group at the WZB Berlin Social Science Center, Dr. Aljoscha Burchardt, deputy Berlin branch spokesperson of the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence, and Dr. Thomas Müller, postdoc in the Center for Humans and Machines at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development.

Editors of the episode: Elena Hungerland (MPIB), Andreas Schepers (DFKI), Anja Sommerfeld (FVB/BR50) and Gregor Hofmann (WZB/BR50).
